During March, most of the bloggers for the Foresight.fi blog drew their inspiration from the theme of the month: change phenomena. The steering group for the National Foresight Network had previously listed ten of the most important change signals, including topics such as responsible choices, the work ethos of the net generation, challenges in leadership, new ways of learning and sustainable innovations.
The bloggers discussed issues such as innovation business, the future of the mobile learning, the differences between forecasting and foresight and the eternal question whether work can be separated from leisure time - and the fact that work is still work, despite the new ways of working in the internet age.
The current economical atmosphere received its fair share of comments, with the end of the capitalism being proposed as a possible future scenario. That scenario, together with the argument that future is not something that can be decided on by task forces, received the majority of comments from the reader community. Somehow it makes you feel that all of us could use a taste of the slow life movement, like the residents of the Tokyo district dedicated for serving the elderly and their needs. Why not have the same in Finland?
